Sustainability Management System
Escarus’ experience offers a structure built on the Sustainability Index, ISO 14001, ISO 14064 and the Sustainable Development Principles.
The Sustainability Management System allows for a systematic management of environmental and social risks. Furthermore, it enables the management of environmental and social internal and external impacts as well as a display of ownership for sustainability by all employees in the organization, starting with the top management.
Although the essential elements of a Sustainability Management System are known, the dynamics, internal functioning and sensitivities of the organization should be considered in building up the system to make sure it is tailored for needs.
The Sustainability Management System should be able to ensure that impacts are reported systematically, subject-related data are provided within a specific system flow and all this happens periodically without need for an extra effort. To this end, the use of subject-specific tools and mechanisms would strengthen the system.
